ESMA market access in the UAE
In 2001, the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) became the sole national standardization body for The United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.). This organization oversees the Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS) which in turn assesses imports for compliance to national and international standards.
Demonstrate compliance and commitment
UL is an ESMA Notified Body, allowing us to help you demonstrate compliance with both ECAS and Emirates Quality Mark (EQM) requirements. Though ECAS is the mandatory scheme enforced by ESMA on all regulated products, EQM is the voluntary mark of conformity granted to the products that demonstrate compliance with relevant UAE National Standards.
What this means for you, as a UL customer:
UL offers in-country experts to support you with project management through your application process, right up to the issuance of a Certificate of Conformity.
With UL’s support, you have a team behind you that’s already proficient in document review, testing (if required), test reports, certification and factory inspection. In short, all of the elements required for compliance.
