Suppliers with regulated products who wish to enter the UAE market first need to have a local trade license to sell the regulated products in the local

The local agent shall submit an application to the Notified Bodies (UL Middle East office) for ECAS or EQM certification issuance.

It is critical that household products, designated as regulated products, meet the specified safety standards to help ensure consumers safety and peace of mind. The objective of the Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology or ESMA Scheme is to safeguard consumers’ interest.
UL is recognized by Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology as a Notified Body (NB) for issuing ECAS/EQM Certification for different types of regulated products
